Makes:
1 lot of yeast
Preparation time:
As log as it takes to get water and yeast.
Cooking time:
20min - 1 hr.
About:
This recipe is to get some yeast started, for adding into other doughs. Especially slow/cold risen doughs.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 tsp dry yeast (or 1 tsp dry yeast + 1tbsp sourdough starter)
- Warm Water (amount depends on recipe, usually 100mL - 150mL)
Tools
- Bowl, and measuring cups.
Method
Measure out warm water into a bowl.
Add all yeast (incl. sourdough starter) to warm water.
Place bowl into the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
At the end the mixture should have become a murky, muddy colour, and hopefully a little bubbly. Sourdough should be floating to the top.
